Product Description |
|
The CADA-SA2-Black Series offers an unbeatable combination of RAID data protection, 3.0Gbit/sec eSATA speed and a vast storage capacity of 1 TB (500 GB mirrored). This dual-bay disk array features swappable hard disks and a built-in RAID controller. The unit arrives preconfigured in RAID 1 to protect your important data, if one drive fails, simply replace it with an identical drive and the data will automatically rebuild. Leave it in RAID 1 mode for automatic background rebuilding and optimum security for your files, or configure to RAID 0 for increased data reading and writing speeds. Factory default is RAID 1 GUI mode, but it also supports RAID levels 0, 1 and 0+1(safe 33/safe 50). Its SATA interface provides a faster boot process and quicker loading of programs and data. Whether saving large files, video, music, protecting databases or working directly on the drive, the CADA-SA2 Series delivers high-capacity performance and data security. The units are factory pre-configured in RAID 1 and ready to use out of the box. Install the easy-to-use RAID configuration software and the included SATA to eSATA bracket kit to take full advantage of the incredible set of features.

Pros:
Esata = fast!
Raid options work.
Hard drives seem to be stable without clicking.
Got it for warehouse deals for 100 (has a scratch on the side). Though I'd be still be happy if I paid more.
Can upgrade hard drives down the road. Enclosure alone would cost almost what I paid.
Built solid, but I wouldn't drop it.
Despite the comments on these drives I feel the fan isn't that loud like some say.
Shipped well
Cons:
Big and heavy.
Fan placement could of been better, but it does it's job.
Lights are quite bright I masked them with black tape. |

| The hard drive works fine and will come a long way. eSATA transfers data in an eye-wink. Keep it up cavalry |
All of the Cavalry USB drives DIE just after warranty expires

| Unfortunately I purchased several of these drives to perform backups on several computers. Just after the warranty expired they all died one-by-one. I purchased a 500 GB at Costco that also died so I took it back to Costco for a replacement and that one died this morning! I highly recommend that you choose another brand. |
Failed in 3 months

| What else can I review about? It only worked for three months. I have 500gb of data in it, with a seal saying if broken warranty void. No way I wanna send it to repair with my data. Why 500GB? I used it as RAID1, so i do not have to have to buy another disk for dual backups. But i just realized it was a mistake. |
